The Federal government, alongside the Niger state government are currently in negotiation with the kidnappers that abducted students of Government Secondary School, Kagara in Niger state.
Yesterday, unknown gunmen attacked the boarding school and abducted some of the students, staff, and residents of the village.
A top government official revealed that the negotiation is taking place between government, the kidnappers with the aid of mediators.
Report says some Fulani leaders and repentant bandits are leading the negotiation in an effort to rescue the victims.
The report says authorities sought the help of repentant bandits from Zamfara and Katsina to lead the negotiation.
Yesterday, Niger state government said the gunmen abducted 42 people, including 27 students, three staff and their 12 residents expected to be the families of the staff.
At the process, the gunmen also killed one student who tried to escape after they shot him three time.
Niger state Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello said he will not pay any penny as ransom to rescue the victims.
