The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the sum of N190.5m for the purchase of a microscope by the University of Ibadan, Oyo State.
The Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba, disclosed this on Wednesday.
Nwajiuba noted that the council approved the request of the university authorities to buy the equipment because the current one being used by the famous institution had become obsolete.
He added that in continuation of the efforts of the federal government to revitalize and repurpose the education sector.
He said: “This is a microscope which is totally directed at enhancing whatever material, looking at nuclear composition of its molecular nature.”
