Fire razes market in Funtua, destroys goods worth millions of Naira

An inferno again razed another Market in Funtua of Katsina State in the early hours of Friday.
Several shops and stalls worth millions of naira were reported to have been destroyed by the fire incident.

The inferno was said to have started at the second-hand clothes section of the market around 2am in the early hours of the morning.

The fire was later brought under control by fire service personnels and sympathisers.

At the time of writing this report, there was no report of life lost.
The incident came on the heels of two other market fire incidents in the state within the last 10 days.

It could be recalled that SAHELIAN TIMES reported how on March 22, a fire razed over 1,000 shops and stalls in Katsina Central Market.

Another fire destroyed several shops at the Magama Jibia Market in Jibia Council, with goods worth several millions destroyed in both incidents.
