Former education minister, Dauda Birma, dies at 80

A former Minister of Education and ex-presidential aspirant, Alh Dauda Birma, is dead.

Birma died of undisclosed illness.

He was born on 21 July 1940, in Garkida, Gombi Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

Birma held several positions in the old Northern region, and served as education minister under the military regime of late Gen. General Sani Abacha.

The deceased who was also two-time presidential aspirant is an alumnus of Ahamdu Bello University Zaria, 1967 cohort.
