Zilyadaini Sidi Mustapha Karaye, a former Senior Special Assistant to the governor of Kano State, has accused the Chairman of Kano Municipal Local Government Area, Alfindiki, of scamming him out of N2.8 million.

Karaye recounted that the Local Government Chief had advertised a plot in Sabuwar Abuja of the LGA and that he, along with some associates, paid N2.8 million for it. He also gave the witnesses N100,000.

“After I paid, I asked him to keep the papers of the plot, considering that we were close friends,” Karaye added.

However, Karaye did not start construction on the plot until two years later when he was arrested by the police on charges of building on someone else’s property.

“After a police investigation, they found that my friend Faizu had resold the plot to a different individual. The police took him and his associates into custody, held him for two days, and then filed charges against him in court,” Karaye explained.

Karaye further stated that Alfindiki and his associates were remanded by a magistrate named only as Dandago, but after pleading with Dandago to grant bail, he agreed on the condition that Faizu and his associate would pay back the N2.8 million to court, and the person to whom he had resold the plot would be responsible for paying for all building-related expenses.

However, Alfindiki has not returned Karaye’s calls since then, and he has been unresponsive to his messages.

When SAHELIAN reached out to Alfindiki, he declined to comment on the allegations.
