Kano State Government has reintroduced the payment of Parent-Teacher Association levy in the state.
The state ministry of Education in a circular dated 28th March, 2021 received by SAHELIAN TIMES asked all public schools to commence the collection of “school fees” from the beginning of second term 2020/2021 session.
According to the circular signed by the ministry’s permanent secretary “Primary school’s pupils are to pay N100, while secondary schools students are to pay N200”.
He also noted that, the no child should be sent home if his or her parent cannot afford to pay the stipulated amount.
The state government have since stopped the school feeding program across the state.
