A visibly enraged Bashir Machina has vowed to seek legal redress shortly after his name was substituted with that of Senate President Ahmad Lawan as the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidate for Yobe North.

Machina contested and won APC primary elections but the latest Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) list revealed Senator Lawan as the candidate of the ruling APC for the Yobe North senatorial zone.

Lawan had contested and lost the APC presidential primaries earlier this month.

Machina, who had won the APC district ticket, was later asked to step down for Lawan but he resisted and vowed  not to step down.

However, in an unexpected turn of events, Lawan was identified as the party’s flag bearer in the senatorial district.
