Ganduje approves N32 millions for NECO, NBAIS fees of physically challenged students

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State has approved the release of N32,429,000 to the Ministry of Education for registration of physically challenged indigent candidates in the National Examination Council (NECO), National Board for Arabic and Islamic Schools (NBAIS), and West African Senior Secondary School Certificate (WASSCE) Examinations.

In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Mallam Muhammad Garba, said the approval was part of the agreement reached during the weekly state executive council meeting.

There are 2,595 verified candidates and the government promised to pay 11,000 for every student writing WAEC and 1,805000 would be spent for students writing NBAIS.

Earlier in August this year, Kano state government also spent the sum of N489,258 for 29,129 students that passed qualifying examinations organized by the state government
