Ganduje presents N147.9B budget to state assembly

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano state has presented the total sum of N147,935,302,948 as the 2021 budget tagged as “Budget for Economic Recovery and Sustainable Development,” to the Kano State House of Assembly.

Presenting the Budget on Tuesday, Ganduje proposed N74,661,312,950 as capital expenditures for the 2021 fiscal document, which is N14,175,781,008 higher than that of 2020 revised budget.

He also declared N73,273,989,998 as the total recurrent expenditure of the 2021 budget.

N37 Billion representing 25% of the total budget was declared to education.

Over N25 Billion representing 17% of the total budget was allocated to the health care service delivery in the state.

The sum of over N3 Billion was earmarked for the take-off of Kano light train project, Housing and Transport was got N3 Billion, Information Ministry has the total budget of N2.5 Billion.

Other sectors that include Agriculture N5.7 billion, Water Resources N9 billion and Religious Affairs N555.7 million were announced by the Governor.

Governor Ganduje thanked the people of the state for shunning crises across the country while he assured of transparency in the implementation of governance in the state.
