The last is not heard of the crisis bedeviling the Kano State’s Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as a new conflict has sprung up from the endorsement of Senator Barau I Jibrin to fly the party’s flag for the Kano North Senatorial District.

SAHELIAN TIMES understands that the sudden withdrawal of Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje from the senatorial race for Barau Jibrin was not well received by the former Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, and Ganduje’s anointed Deputy Gubernatorial Candidate, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo.

Garo, considered an important stakeholder of the party from the Kano North Zone, has been embroiled in a bitter fight over control of the party’s structure with Senator Barau Jibrin.

Reliable sources from the Kano State Government House have confirmed that Garo’s stiff rejection of Ganduje’s reconciliation with Barau led to a hot worded exchange between the former commissioner and the Party’s State Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas.

“He (Garo) was very rude to the Governor yesterday night, and when Abdullahi Abbas tried to call him to order, it led to a heated exchange between the two” someone very familiar with the matter informed our correspondent.

The source added that as a result of the Monday episode, the Governor has summoned an emergency meeting with the party’s stakeholders at 3am on Tuesday night
