Ganduje’s aide, Ali Baba arrested, released on bail by police

Ali Baba, one of the most influential aides of the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has just been released on bail by the police after agreeing to withdraw the allegations he made that Aliko Oil, a popular downstream petroleum firm, was owned by a former state governor, Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

Ali Baba who is the Special Adviser to Governor Ganduje on religious affairs, was featured on a discussion programme of a local radio station in which he made the allegations.

On the programme, Ali Baba challenged the former governor to make a public denial if indeed “ the fact all glittering filling stations of the company do not not belong to him.”

However, the company swiftly dragged Ali Baba to court where it secured an order for the police to investigate the matter because of its grave security implications.

A relieble source who was at the Kano State Police Command confirmed to SahelianTimes that, Ali Baba had to write an undertaking accepting to withdraw the allegations and apologize to the company.
