Gunmen had on Tuesday attacked Gov. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje’s convoy and injured three police men on their way returning to Kano from Zamfara State, where they went to receive Gov Matawalle who defected to the ruling party.
Ganduje and Jigawa State governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar were said to be in the same car during the attack.
A report said that the security operatives in the convoy engaged the gunmen in a fierce gun battle that led to three policemen sustaining injuries.
SAHELIAN TIMES reported that bandits in Zamfara have killed a member of the State Assembly on his way to Kano earlier today.
