According to Premium Times’ report, Abdulaziz, the Son of Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has dragged his mother, Hafsa Umar Ganduje, to the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), allegedly in connection with land dispute.

The online newspaper claimed that sources familiar with the matter said, Abdulazeez was frustrated with his mum’s antics of using family’s access to power for private gain.

According to the paper, Abdulaziz petitioned the EFCC, claiming that he was approached by a property developer to help facilitate the acquisition of some plots of land in Kano with some hundreds of thousands of US dollars and at least 35 million naira as “facilitation commission”.

Abdulazeez, reportedly, paid the amount in dollars to his mother, Hafsa Ganduje.
“But three months later, (the property developer) discovered that the plots of land he wanted and had paid the first family for had been allocated to other buyers and he then requested to be refunded,” the PT quoted a source.

The paper reported that the first lady was invited to report last Thursday to the Abuja headquarters of the EFCC, but shunned the invitation thereby risking arrest.
