A gas cylinder exploded and injured 19 people in Sheka Karshen Kwalta of Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State.
The gas cylinder explosion occurred at a gas station and the blast blew up a nearby residential building and the shops attached to it.
While confirming the incident, the State Fire Service’s spokesperson, PFS Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, stated that their team of firefighters was quickly deployed and it succeeded in saving the lives of the victims.
In an interview, a community resident stated that she was in her residence when she heard the explosion.
“When I stepped outside, I realised the sound was caused by an explosion in a nearby gas station,” she explained.
