Gawuna, Garo should be in prison for disrupting 2019 gubernatorial election–APC Chieftain, Hafiz Abubakar

Kano State Former Deputy Governor, Professor Hafizu Abubakar, has stated that the All Progressive Congress (APC) gubernatorial and deputy gubernatorial aspirants for Kano state should be in prison by now for disrupting the 2019 general election.

In his remarks as the Chairman of the 39th annual symposium of the late Mallam Aminu Kano Memorial anniversary, Abubakar lamented how Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna and Murtala Sule Garo were rewarded with gubernatorial tickets in 2019 for their “uncivilised action.”

“We have billboards in Kano of those people who led to the state’s inconclusive election.”

The former deputy governor claimed that videos of APC candidates disrupting the electoral process are “internationally available.”

“The APC gubernatorial candidates should be in prison in any civilised world, but today in Kano we celebrate them on billboards,” he said.

The theme of this year’s annual symposium “Money in African Politics: The Nigerian Experience.” 

The Director General of the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs in Lagos, Professor Eghosa Emmanuel Osaghae, who serves as the guest Speaker describes the late Mallam Aminu Kano as an immortal figure.

“People like Mallam Aminu will live forever, they will never,” he said.

He also congratulated Bayero University on honouring the late Aminu Kano by erecting the Aminu Kano Centre for Democratic Studies in his honour.
