Gawuna meets Abuja-based Kano indigenes, promises inclusive government

All Progressives Congress (APC) Gubernatorial Candidate and Kano Deputy Governor, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna has promised to run an inclusive government devoid of discrimination.

According to a statement by Hassan Musa Fagge, Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Gawuna stated this on Tuesday, when he met with the Kano Stakeholders based in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The town hall meeting held at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, was organised by the Directorate of Stakeholders Management of his Gubernatorial Campaign Council.

Gawuna assured that his administration would not disappoint people in providing an inclusive leadership of making Kano work for all through consolidating on the achievements recorded to create opportunities for them.

“I want us to come together and join hands to develop Kano to greater heights”, he said.

He reiterated his commitment of enhancing the health service delivery effective through strengthening of the Primary Health Care Centres.

Gawuna added to continue the improvement of construction and renovation of school structures, provision of instructional materials and sustenance of the training of teachers on modern educational management so as to equip them for the overall educational advancement of the system.

He pointed out that if elected as Governor, his administration will ensure effectiveness of the civil service, agriculture, environment, empowerment of youths and women and also boost internally generated revenue to bring additional development through investors.

The APC gubernatorial flag-bearer also appreciated the Kano indigenes based in Abuja for their support and cooperation towards his candidature.

In his speech, the Chairman of the occasion, Prof. Munzali Jibril described Gawuna as a man of ingenuousness and humility.

“This consultation with Kano community about his plans (Gawuna) and programmes is a clear demonstration of his vision for the development of the State therefore I want to assure you of our support, we are solidly behind you,” the professor said.

In attendance at the town hall meeting were the Minister of State for Works and Housing Alh. Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub, Sen. Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya, former Minister of Defense, Lt. Gen.Abdurrahman Bello Dambazau and Director General of Standard Organisation of Nigeria, Mal.Farouk Salim, Alh.Inuwa Waya and members of the private sector.

Others were serving and former members of the House of Representatives, Senior Special Assistants to the President, Director General of the Gawuna-Garo Gubernatorial Campaign Council, Alh.Rabi’u Suleiman Bichi and the council’s spokesman, Mal. Muhammad Garba.
