Gunmen invaded the house of the village head of Tsara, Aliyu Muhammad, on Friday morning and took away his wife, Aishatu Aliyu.
According to a statement signed by Karaye Emirate Council Information Officer, Haruna Gunduwawa on Tuesday, the unknown gunmen stormed the village in a large number.
” The abductors shot severally into the air before taking away their victim, that led to many of the residents passing the night in the bush for safety,” he said.
According to him, ”The District Head notified the Emir in a report that, people in Rogo district are presently living in fear as kidnapping cases is on the rise explaining that, within two months four cases were recorded.”
He said, the Emir of Karaye, Alhaji Ibrahim Abubakar II, has appealed to the security operatives to improve measures to ensure adequate protection of lives and property in the emirate.
When contacted, Kano State Police Command’s spokesman, DSP Abdullahi Haruna, however, said the command had not received any information of on the situation.
