Gunmen abducted 13 women in Katsina

Suspected gunmen attack Faskari local government in Katsina state and abducted 13 women.

Katsina State Police Command confirmed the report, saying the gunmen opened fire at a passengers’ car while the victims were inside on their way to Bank in Funtua to collect their support fund. The Command Public Relations Officer, Isah Gambo, said.

Isah Gambo said the women were 13 and are from Maigora village but three of them escaped from the hands of their abductors.

Katsina State is one of the states in North-west ravaged by security challenges, especially kidnapping.

In December last year, more than 300 students were kidnapped in Government Secondary School, Kankara, before they were released.

Further more, this is coming few days after bandits abducted students of government secondary school Kagara in Niger state and the victims are yet to be released as the time of writing this report.
