Gunmen on Tuesday opened fire on the convoy of the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 12, Bauchi, Audu Madaki.
The gunmen who reportedly shot at the police chief injured him even as they killed his orderly.
The incident occured at about 2:30 pm in the Barde Zangidi Area in Toro Local Government of Bauchi State.
The AIG is said to be receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in Abuja while security has been beefed up around the zone.
