Gunmen have repotedly killed at least 11 people in a reprisal attack in Tsatskiya village, Safana Local Government Area, Katsina State.
The Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isa, confirmed the incident.
During the attack, three people have also sustained serious injuries and were taken for treatment at Dutsin-Ma General hospital in the state.
According to the report, the attack came on Saturday morning after some residents killed one man who is believed to be an informant of the bandits.
As soon as they arrived in the village, the gunmen started shooting sporadically, which resulted the killing of 11 people, the report added.
Some residents are now fleeing for their lives in the Tsatskiya village as they’re expecting another attack from the bandits.
In recent days, bandits have been launching series of attacks in some villages in Katsina State.
The people of Kukar Babangida village in Katsina State complained that they’re experiencing series of attacks from bandits. Last week, one journalist lost his life as a result of attack by the bandits.
