Gunmen raided the residence of Chief Fadan Ayu in  Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State and kidnapped his youngest son, Sahabi Halidu Ibrahim.

While confirming the incident, the Ayu Traditional Council Secretary, Jibril Adamu Muhammed, stated that based on all indications, the attackers were after the traditional ruler because they went straight to his room and began shooting, Daily Trust reported.

“They fired many gunshots on his door but God protected him. Having found it difficult to reach the chief they took away his youngest son, Sahabi.”

He said the kidnappers called to negotiate for his release but it was the victim’s mother who answered and they said they could not negotiate with her but with the father.

“Since then they have not called. We are still waiting for their call,” he said.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Kaduna State, Muhammed Jalige, had yet to answer the calls at the time of filing this report.
