Heads of humanitarian affairs/disaster management ministry’s agencies swapped

In line with the drive of the Federal Government for efficient and effective service delivery, the heads of two strategic agencies under the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development are to swap positions.

They are the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) and the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants, and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI).

Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, said in a statement on Thursday that President Muhammadu Buhari gave approval for the position swap.

“President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the swapping of positions by two heads of agencies under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.”

Following the development, Mrs Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim, who is currently the Director-General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) takes over from Senator Basheer Garba Mohammed as the Honourable Federal Commissioner for the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI); while Senator Mohammed moves over to NAPTIP as the new Director-General of the agency, Garba disclosed.
