The counsel of the sacked Kano Commissioner for Works, Muazu Magaji, has disclosed that Governor Ganduje ordered the arrest of his  client.

Magaji was arrested in Abuja in the late hours of Thursday on his way back to his residence after appearing in a live interview with Trust Tv, according to his lawyer.

Barrister Garzali Datti Ahmad, also stated that the suspect was apprehended under the command of the Kano State Government.

After being handed his sack letter, the former Commissioner, popularly known as Dan Sarauniya, became a vocal critic of the Ganduje administration.

SAHELIAN TIMES on 17 January 2022, reported how Magaji posted on his Facebook that he has received an Invitation from Kano State Police Command.

Sources alleged that the arrest was connected with the invitation, which he refused to honour.

Barrister Ahmad disclosed that at time of writing this report the police are yet to transport his client to Kano.

He alleged that the fundamental rights of his clients have been infringed, therefore, they would seek court redress in due course.

Magaji was sacked by Gov. Ganduje over controversial comments he posted on social media on the death of the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, who died from COVID-19 complications.
