Details have emerged about the plane crash that killed Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen Ibrahim Attahiru, and other top military personnel.

Exclusive report obtained by SAHELIAN TIMES showed that, the Nigerian Air Force Beechcraft 350 with registration NAF203 flew from Abuja to Kaduna Military airport but diverted to Kaduna international airport due to weather.

At touchdown the aircraft skidded off the runway and went into flames with 8 persons on board and 4 crew.

The accident occurred at 6:59pm.

Further reports from the crash site confirmed that the aircraft was completely burnt and there are no survivors.

The aircraft is one of the three Beechcraft 350i acquired by NAF in 2014 for surveillance and reconnaissance as part of strategies to curb Boko Haram insurgencies. One of the aircraft crashed at Abuja airport in February 2021 while attempting to land after a reported engine failure.
