A victim recently freed by Abuja-Kaduna kidnappers claims that following the Tuesday night jailbreak, there was great celebration when the bandits who took part in the attack returned to their enclave with some of the freed inmates.

Malam Tukur Mamu, the lead negotiator for the release of the kidnapped victims of the train had on Saturday announced that he secured the freedom of the seven abductees through mediation.

However, Daily Trust reported that the families of each of the six Nigerian victims paid N100 million while the captors pegged the ransom for the Pakistani at N200 million which was also paid.

The paper also reported that the terrorists collected the ransom in naira and US dollars.

Those released were identified as Muhammad Daiyabu Paki, Bosede Olurotimi, Abubakar Zubairu, Alhassan Sule, Sadiq Ango Abdullahi, Aliyu Usman and Muhammad Abuzar Afzal, the Pakistani.

it could be recalled that gunmen suspected to be bandits on Tuesday night attacked Kuje medium prison in Abuja.

Mamu,  later claimed that the attackers of the Abuja-Kaduna Train are reportedly responsible for the Tuesday night attack.

According to officials, hundreds of inmates detained in the prison, including at least 69 Boko Haram suspects, were able to escape as a result of the attack on the correctional facility.
