The gubernatorial candidate of New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), Engr Abba Kabir Yusuf, has promised to make public the report of the committee that investigated the viral videos showing Gov. Ganduje stuffing bundles of dollars allegedly collected as kickback from contractors.
Abba made the promise when asked by a panel member in a Facebook live chat anchored by Barr Bulama Bukarti on Saturday.
“I will study the report of the investigation committee and make it public. The public are entitled to know the truth because it’s their money. We will be guided by the recommendations of the report and the extant laws,” said Abba.
Recalled that Ganduje was seen in a series of viral videos stuffing alleged kickbacks from contractors.
The governor dismissed the videos as clones but the public demanded for investigation.
Initially, the State House of Assembly opened an investigation into the matter but the governor rushed to the court to secure an injunction against the investigation.
The court order halted the process after the publisher of Daily Nigeria, who first released the videos, had already testified under oath about the genuineness of the controversial videos.
In the same vein, the former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, also confirmed that his agency had investigated the videos but failed to reveal if they are genuine or deepfake.
