Insecurity: Ganduje closes selected tertiary institutions in Kano

Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has directed the closure of some tertiary Institutions in the state with immediate effect.

This is coming few hours after the government announced the closure of some boarding schools in the outskirts of the metropolis as a result of insecurity ravaging some northern states.

The affected schools are Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso College of Advanced and Remedial Studies T/Wada,
School of Environmental Studies Gwarzo,
School of Rural Technology Entrepreneurship Dev ( SORTED) Rano, and Audu Bako Collage of Agriculture Dambatta.

The Commissioner for Higher Education in the state, Dr. Mariya Mahmud Bukure, issued the statement, omtmm all students of the affected schools are advised to vacate the campuses as soon as possible.

According to her, the date for school re-opening will be communicated later.

SAHELIAN TIMES reported that gunmen kidnapped more than 300 students of Government Secondary School, Jangebe in Zamfara state yesterday. Earlier today, the kidnapped students and staff of Government Secondary School, Kagara regained their freedom after spending weeks in captivity.
