ISWAP: Police confirms kiling 3 people in Borno

The Borno State Police Command has confirmed the deaths of three people following an attack by members of the Islamic State in West Africa Province(ISWAP) on the Benisheik area of the state.

At a conference with divisional police officers in Maiduguri, Borno’s capital on Wednesday,  the state’s Commissioner of Police, Abdu Umar,said some security operatives were also kidnapped but escaped.

According to him, the attack occurred on September 24, but a raid by troops helped the security operatives escape.

“But with support from the air task force, the security men were able to escape after the insurgents scampered into the bush on sighting the Super Tucanos,” he revealed.

Umar said those killed during the attack include a member of the civilian task force and two commuters, while three vehicles were burnt.

He, however, assured residents that security operatives will intensify raids on hideouts in order to have more secure and safe environment.

SAHELIAN times had reported that ISWAP  terrorists abducted the security operatives — including one policeman, three CJTF and three hunters.

The terrorist also carted away one Hilux patrol vehicle and we also lost one AK-47 rifle.
