It is very difficult to sell a bad product – NEF to Garba Shehu

The Northern Elders Forum (NEF) have said that they are sympathetic with the Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to the President, Mallam Garba Shehu for selling “bad product.”

Garba blamed Nigerians for not appreciating the sacrifices being rendered by the servicemen men to the nation.

The NEF, through its spokesperson, Dr. Hakeem Baba Ahmed in Channels TV said that, “Mallam Garba is doing his job but we know all that what he is saying is not true.”

He said that the Special Assistant is doing his job, “his job is to try to make the administration look good, and hit back at those who say the administration is failing.”

“We don’t need to label critics people who are ambitious, people who want to bring down the government and who don’t appreciate the sacrifice of the administration.”

“But he is not doing enough, and I think Nigerians know the government is failing to secure them”, Baba Ahmed said.

Dr. Ahmed said that when the administration of President Buhari came into power, the only security challenge was Boko Haram.

“But today we have multiple threats in the country; including threats to national cohesion, and that doesn’t appear to be the concern of the administration.”

He added that, one of the things wrong with the administration is that it does not have a thinking capacity and is living in denial of the problems facing Nigeria.

He pointed out that banditry and kidnapping are escalating in the country, because the terrorists have realized that, “there is huge vacuum around governance, security, law and order.”
