The Kano State Commissioner of Police, Sama’ila Dikko, has debunked insinuation of bomb last in Kano, blaming a gas cylinder for the incident that rocked the Sabon Gari area of the ancient city this morning.
The CP also confirmed that at least 4 have been killed in the explosion which injured a number of others in the early hours of Tuesday, in Kano.
According to the CP, there was a gas cylinder used by a welder in the area which exploded and damaged the building of the nearby school, causing the tragedy.
Sahelian Times had earlier reported that an explosion feared to have killed scores of people and injured several pupils at the Winners School Academy in Sabon Gari, Kano.
The Police Anti-Bomb Squad have mobilized to the scene while frantic efforts are ongoing to rescue those trapped under the rubble.
