The Kano based Islamic cleric, Sheikh Abduljabar Nasir Kabara, said that it was clear that Izala inclined clerics lack the requisite knowledge to engage him in an intellectual debate.

The Sheikh, who was on Thursday banned by the Kano State government from preaching in the state for alleged incitement, while responding to SAHELIAN TIMES in an exclusive interview said that Kano State Government is “too ignorant to understand his seminars”.

“It was clear that it was Izala based clerics that incite the government to stop me from preaching because they cannot confront me.”

Abduljabar accused the government of firing back at him for his refusal to support Ganduje’s second bid in the 2019 election.

“They are only interested in dispersing the crowd of my students because to them the crowd is a threat.”

He said that, security agencies have no stake in an intellectual discussion, “they are illiterate”, he said.

“Those scholars saying that what I am preaching is wayward and it is not in the books I cited as reference should have come forward and engage me in discussion and prove what I said to be wrong.”

The Sheikh challenged the security operatives in the state should organize a between him and other clerics opposing his view points to organize with him and those scholars that proclaimed that his teachings are wrong.
“The government should have organize debate between me and clerics like Sheik Qaribullahi Kabara, Abdullahi Godon kaya, and Bashir Aliyu Umar, before it decided who is right or wrong. ”

He call on the government to review the decision it has taken, and call upon his followers to embrace peace and obey law and order.

All seminaries run by the Sheikh have also been shut down even as security agencies have launched an investigation into his activities.
