The factional leader of Ja’ma’atu Izalatil Bid’a Wa’ikamatus-Sunnah (JIBWIS), Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, has warned that the raging #EndSARS protest is a ploy to destabilise President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration and destroy the northern Nigeria.
Sheikh Jingir made the assertion while giving Friday sermon to an audience in a mosque in Jos, Nigeria. He said, “It is very glaring that the EndSARS protest is a plan to disorganise Buhari’s government and destroy the entire north. I said this because even when the protesters demands were met by the government, they still continue with the protest and even called for the President’s resignation. This tells you that something bad is hidden in the movement, ”
He further argued that his group is “not in support of the #EndSARS protest because there is no sincerity in it, and it is politically motivated. Therefore, he enjoined all his followers to desist from participating in the protests, while calling on them to pray for the progress of our nation.
The cleric also accused the protesters of sabotaging the nation’s progress and called on President Buhari to immediately ensure that this protest is nipped in the bud.
