Minutes after President Muhammad Buhari ordered the reopening of Nigerian land borders, people living at Seme border start jubilating, showing their happiness.

The residents of the village celebrated with their motorcycles, pouring water on each other all in celebration of the gesture made by Nigerian government.

Nigeria had in August 2019 closed its land borders to curtail illegal importation of drugs, small arms and agricultural products into country from neighbouring countries.

The Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, had last month hinted on the reopening of the nation’s borders.
