A Kano upper Shari’a High Court sitting in Kofar Kudu has adjourned the hearing of Abduljabbar Kabara’s case due to the absence of the case’s presiding judge who is currently ill.
The presiding judge, Justice Ibrahim Sarki Yola, has been hospitalised, according to the court’s spokesman, Muzammil Ado Fagge.
This is the first time the court has missed sitting since the suspect’s arraignment on July 16, 2021, after he was accused of making blasphemous statements about the Prophet Muhammad PBUH, which could incite public unrest.
The case has been postponed until June 2, 2022, according to Ado.
