Bandits have released the 27 remaining students abducted from the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation, Afaka, Kaduna State after the intervention from Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, with the support from earthwile President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.

it will be recalled that yesterday, the parents of the abducted students staged a protest at the National Assembly asking the lawmakers to intervene for the release of their children who were kidnapped in the school premises about two months ago.

The bandits had earlier demanded the sum of N500 million as ransom before they release the students.

It was reported that 10 students were earlier freed from the kidnappers den after their parents paid ransom.

The State Governor, Mallam Nasiru El-Rufa’i, insisted that he won’t give ransom to kidnappers or negotiate with bandits, a statement that drew criticisms from parents and guardians of the students.

Last month, kidnappers had again abducted students of Greenfield University, killing five of them. They also threatened to kill them all if their parents or government refused to give them what they earlier demanded.
