About 27 of Kagara students and 12 other persons were rescued from the hands of their abductors yesterday.
This was confirmed by a source in the Niger state government house.
”The Kagara schoolboys have been released. They are on their way to town now,” the source said.
All the boys and the family members were released.”
The release of the Kagara students came a day after 317 schoolgirls were abducted from Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe in Zamfara state.
There have been rising cases of insecurity in the northwestern part of Nigeria, which prompted the Presidency to promised that it would decisively dealt with bandits.
