Alhaji Mukhtar Sarkin Bai, the longest serving District Councilor and Kingmaker in Kano Emirate Council, is dead.
Sarkin Bai was appointed a district head in 1954 has has since then participated actively in the appointment of Emirs.
He was sacked in 2019, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, when he was the Emir of Bichi Emirate, for alleged disobedience to the newly created created Emirate Council.
Alhaji Mukhtar Adnan was born in 1926 and attended Dambatta Elementary School, Kano Middle School and Zaria Clerical School.
He was a Member of the Federal House of Representatives in the First Republic and the first Commissioner for Education of Kano State.
Burial arrangements will be announced later.
