Bandits killed scores of people including the son of a retired Deputy Inspector General of Police, Mamman Tsafe, in a fresh attack in Tsafe Local Government of Zamfara State.
A resident identified as Lawal, who spoke to SAHELIAN TIMES, said that the bandits stormed the community around 9:30 pm on Sunday.
He said they could not ascertain the actual number of the victims at the time of writing this report because the bandits are still operating in the town.
Banditry has become a serious security challenge in northern Nigeria, causing the death and abduction of thousands of rural and urban inhabitants, including travelers.
