Just in: DSS arrest Tukur Mamu at Kano airport

Men of the Department of State Services (DSS) arrested Tukur Mamu, in Kano shortly after he had arrived Nigeria through Aminu Kano International Airport from Cairo, Egypt.

The lead negotiator of Abuja- Kaduna train passengers is being detained with his two wives and one other person, this paper gathered.

Mamu, the Publisher of the Desert Herald Newspaper in Kaduna, had announced his resignation as the lead negotiator in securing the release of the hostages of the Abuja-Kaduna train attack after alleging a death threat from the Nigerian government.

Several of the victims are still being held captive by the terrorists.

The lead negotiator was earlier arrested and detained for 24 hours by Egyptian authorities in Cairo, allegedly on orders from the Nigerian government.
