Musiliu Smith, the chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), has resigned from his position.
According to The Cable, Ikechukwu Ani, PSC spokesperson, confirmed the development to newsmen on Wednesday.
According to him, Smith resigned on “health grounds”.
The PSC chairman’s resignation comes amid the controversy trailing the commission’s recruitment of constables.
A former Inspector-General of Police, Mr Smith is expected to hand over to Retired Justice Clara Ogunbiyi representing the judiciary at the commission.
