An armed prison warder working with Goron Dutse prison in Kano has shot dead a trader following a heated argument.
The prison warder identified just as Adamu, allegedly shot the trader after an argument over cigarettes.
The trader was pronounced dead when he was being transported to the hospital.
According to an eyewitness, Adamu approached the trader with N200 to buy cigarettes at the rate of N10 each.
“The trader refused to sell the cigarettes to the warder and shot him twice in the stomach,” he explained.
The warder according to the source also shot a man passing the scene on a bicycle.
He added that Adamu was high on drugs when he arrived at the scene.
