The Kaduna State Water Corporation (KADSWAC) has terminated the appointment of about 200 of its workers for services no longer required.

Dateline Nigeria reports that the ‘Termination of Appointment’ was contained in a letter to the affected workers on 30 September 2021.

The letter is signed by KADSWAC’s Managing Director/CEO Sanusi A. S. Maikudi.

“Due to the re-structuring being carried out in the Kaduna State Water Corporation, we are sorry to inform you that, your services are no longer required and thererore your appointment at Kaduna State water Corporation is hereby terminated with immediate effect.

“You are to be paid One (1) month salary in lieu of notice of Termination of your Appointment.

“You are expected to submit all KADSWAC’s property in your possession to the SBU Manager immediately.

“The Corporation wishes you good luck in your future endeavors,” one of the termination letters seen by Dateline Nigeria reads.

One of the sacked workers said about 300 people were affected, adding that “we have considered what happened as an act of the Almighty.

“But is sad that we are losing our financial independence on the eve of Nigeria’s 61st anniversary,” he said.

Attempts to speak with the KADSWAC management were unsuccessful up to the time of filing this report.
