The governorship candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano, Abba Kabir-Yusuf, has finally concluded plans to officially unveil his blueprint to the general public and inaugurate the state campaign council.

According to the candidate’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the council will be made up of professionals from across the state, and the blueprint will be centered on addressing the state’s most pressing issues.

In a press briefing, Bature pointed out that the state party leadership is fully aware of the shady dealings of syndicates of politicians who collect permanent voter’s cards (PVC) from potential voters in an effort to prevent them from exercising their civic rights.

” Our party has placed the necessary mechanism to track, report and pursue legal action on any individual or group found to be engaged in this heinous act that is contrary to the provision of the law.

“This time around, we would not tolerate any form of intimidation from any quarters as we remain resolute democratic principles and operate within the confines of the electoral act 2022 as amended and the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he said.

According to the spokesperson, the gubernatorial candidate is overwhelmed by the sustained momentum and perseverance of his teaming supporters and the good people of Kano state from the inception of his candidature in 2019.

” On behalf of our boss, His Excellency Abba K. Yusuf, we wish to extend our profound appreciation to the teaming youths, candidates, support groups and other party stakeholders for their colourful participation in the recent commissioning of the state campaign office by our able leader Sen. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso,” he added.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared all gubernatorial and state assembly campaigns open.
