Kano anti corruption agency detains Director of local consumer protection council over bribery

Kano state Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) has arrested the Director of Quality Assurance of the states Consumer Protection Council, Mr Bello Alkarya, popularly known as Nigeria, for allegedly receiving bribes.

Confirming the arrest, the Acting Chairman of the Commission, Barrister Mahmud Balarabe, said that Alkarya was arrested and detained after he was caught in the act.

“He is currently in our custody after been caught in the act. Meanwhile, we are investigating the matter but he is in our cell”, Balarabe confirmed.

Ä director of the council was earlier arrested after being accused of also collecting bribes.

Similarly, the Department of State Services (DSS) had last week detained General Idris Bello
