Kano State House of Assembly on Monday approved Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s request to access N20 billion loan from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) through the United Bank for Africa (UBA).
The House approved the request during the weekly plenary session on Monday after a series of discussions.
Speaking to journalists after the session, majority leader, Kabiru Hassan Dashi said the loan was to cover up the deficit caused by COVID-19 pandemic.
According to him, the assembly considered the governor’s request after the government’s inability to access the loan from the capital market due to worsening economic conditions
