Kano Emirate cancels traditional Durbar celebration

Kano Emirate has canceled the traditional Durbar celebration during the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations in the state.

This was disclosed by Madakin Kano, Alhaji Yusuf Nabahani in a statement on Monday.

According to the statement the Dubar was cancel due to   third wave of the COVID-19 and in compliance with the government directives.

Nabahani said the Emir, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero directed him to inform all the district heads of the development.

SAHELIAN TIMES had reported that the Presidential Steering Committee on COVID-19 under the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation had placed Federal Capital Territory and six other states on red alert, amid fears of the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic following the confirmation of the Delta variant of the coronavirus.
