Kano state government has rejected Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) stand on conducting a dialogue between Sheikh Abduljabbar and the Kano clerics, which is slated to take place on forthcoming Sunday, 7th February 2021.

In his interview with a local radio station in Kano, Freedom radio, the Commissioner of Islamic Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Tahar Adamu (Baba impossible), said they have not received any message from the JNI regarding the proposed debate.

“We heard the news like everybody, and we are not bound by their rules since we are not under the organisation. So, we are going to conduct the debate, and the program is still on,” said Baba Impossible.

When asked whether the program is a debate or something else, he said even if it’s quarrel they’re going to hold it.

He also added that, “the preparation is at advanced level, and the only obstacle we could envisaged is time. When it comes things will go on as planned.”

It will be recalled that JNI under the leadership of its President General, His Eminence, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, CFR, mni, has said it would not attend the planned dialogue between Sheikh AbdulJabbar Kabara and Kano clerics, and neither would any of its branches participate.

In a statement signed by its Secretary-General, Dr. Khalid Abubakar Aliyu, JNI also blamed Governor Ganduje of lack of consultation before coming up with this “unnecessary” dialogue.
