Kano State Hisbah Board arrested three people for allegedly using some pages of Holy Qur’an to construct a house.
The incident occurred in the Gaida area, Kumbotso Local Government Area.
In an interview with BBC Hausa, the board’s Deputy Commander, Usaini Usman Cediyar ‘Yan-guda, stated that they had arrested the owner of the house as well as the cleric who gave the instruction.
He added that during the operation, the board’s operatives were successful in recovering some pages of the holy book before they were fully used as building mixture.
The owner of the house claimed that he used the holy book’s pages for protection of his building.
