Kano to commence infectious disease test for all restaurants next month

Kano state consumer protection council said all restaurants, owners/workers in the state must undergo infectious disease test in order to protect consumers from transmittable disease like HIV/AIDS, tuberclosis and kidney disease.

The council’s director, Baffa Babba Dan’Agundi, said this in his interview with newsmen in Kano.

He said the decision was taken to reduce the unhealthy restaurants operating in the state.

Dan Agundi added that any restaurant found with staff that have any transmittable disease, the restaurant will be closed; adding that the test will commence next month.

He said the test will be free and the council will not hesitate to close any restaurant found violating the new order.
