Kano tycoon, Aminu Dantata, denies backing APC guber candidate in Kano election

Business tycoon Alhaji Aminu Dantata has denied endorsing the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Nasiru Gawuna, in the upcoming election.

The businessman, who is in his 90s, stated that he is not partisan and that as an elder, he encourages people to choose whoever they believe will serve them well.

Dantata’s stance was made public through his secretary, Mustapha Junaid, who posted thhe message on behalf of the businessman on his Facebook page.

Junaid emphasized that Dantata has never endorsed any political party or candidate and that he is committed to remaining politically neutral.

According to him the respected elder statesman and businessman has always maintained a non-partisan stance when it comes to elections.

Dantata’s statement comes amidst rumors that he had endorsed the APC candidate for the Kano state governorship election.
However, Dantata has made it clear that he has no affiliations with any political party or candidate and that he believes in the democratic process.

The Kano state governorship election is set to take place on Saturday, and it is expected to be a closely contested race between the APC and the Abba Kabir Yusif of the New Nigerian People Party (NNPP) whose party did trumped the ruling party in the state during the just concluded elections for president and National Assembly legislators.
